CASE STUDY: END-TO-END TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR A VIRTUAL PRODUCTION PROJECT WITH REMOTE ON-SET SUPERVISION

What initially appeared to be a standard project ultimately demanded unconventional solutions and showcased our unique expertise in remote supervision for Virtual Production shoots.

The Challenge: The client provided a set of 3D locations that required significant rework and tasked us with creating new scenes from scratch for a 50 FPS shoot on LED stages. All work had to be completed under a tight deadline, and the shoot itself required real-time technical administration.

Our Solution:

Re-engineering and Optimization of Existing Locations: We began with a deep technical audit of the provided scenes. This was followed by a complete overhaul of assets and models, optimizing all geometry and materials to achieve a stable 50 FPS performance. The lighting was entirely rebuilt to ensure photorealistic results on the LED screens.
Turnkey Development of New Locations: New scenes were built from the ground up using our efficient, proprietary pipeline. This approach guaranteed full technical compliance with Virtual Production requirements, reduced preparation time, and ensured a predictable, high-quality outcome.
Remote On-Set Administration & Supervision: The most technologically complex phase was providing comprehensive supervision of the shoot – entirely remotely. Using Remote Desktop and a live feed from on-set cameras, our team was able to:
- Make real-time adjustments to the 3D locations to match new camera angles.
- Synchronize and correct virtual lighting to perfectly match the physical light setup on set.
- Consult the on-ground crew on physical set construction to achieve a seamless blend between the real and virtual environments.

The Result: We successfully navigated all technical challenges, demonstrating our capability to provide world-class, end-to-end Virtual Production support regardless of our physical location.
